Well, it's a chilly day for Texas anyway.
I adapted this from a recipe for Venison Chili using hamburger instead.
Saute:
1 or 2 lbs of beef
1 chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
Mix in a bowl:
1 t salt
1/2 t pepper
1 t sage
1 t cumin
2 T chili powder
Add this mixture and the following to the cooked meat:
1 quart of tomato juice
2 cans of kidney beans.
Simmer for one hour or so.
My husband likes it, even with the beans.
